Overview

Build the foundation of the company and brand.

Executed planning, design, and development of the corporate website for Basco, a Fukuoka-based company founded in 1989 that operates five fashion brands. By clarifying the concept and essence of not only the company but also each of the five brands, we aimed to set a cornerstone for the company’s continued development over the coming decades.

Insight

Sort out the ambivalence that prevails in the company.

The president, Ms.Obata, who has been leading the company for over 30 years, is still at the forefront as an active designer. Much of what has been done so far is due to the president’s own genius sense, and it has not been well verbalized and visualized. Others were often asking themselves onsite: “What is uniquely ours?” “What is significant about this brand?” They were at times confused. Looking to the future, they felt that now was the right time to define what they should value as a company and what their unique way of making clothes should be. That is why they contacted us.

Idea

For the next generation who will inherit its essence.

Through a series of hearings and workshops with not only the president but also members who will lead the next generation, we helped define the uniqueness of the company and each brand. The website was made to clearly express the tone of each brand in the company’s unwavering beliefs of “being casually unique” and “creating one-of-a-kind clothes.” In doing so, we aimed to refine the basics that they can go back to by eliminating doubts such as “What is the essence of our company?” or “What kind of clothes are typical of this brand?”
