    The Earth & Space Exploration Center (ESEC) at Ritsumeikan University is Japan’s first research organization dedicated to expanding human habitation to the Moon and planets, and to building space exploration infrastructure that will serve as exploration bases ahead of the construction of habitats and living spaces in the future. Shiftbrain was tasked with creating ESEC’s logo, logo motion, website, original type face, stickers, and other tools.

    Since its establishment, Recruit has continued to provide new value to the work styles, lifestyles, and ways of life of many. We revamped the design and content of the website with the aim of not only clearly conveying Recruit’s projects and activities, which are updated on a daily basis, but also its fundamental “thoughts” and “passion”.
    We also created website design guidelines to accompany Recruit’s evolution, with the goal of creating a website that can be updated while remaining firm to its principles.

We collaborated with Paul van Excite, a Dutch lettering designer, for the logo design and Mr. Morita of SONICJAM for the illustrations, and developed business cards, envelopes, paper bags, and the corporate website.

    We were in charge of brand design for PATHFINDER, an R&D team that exists within AOI TYO Holdings. As expressed in the name “PATHFINDER,” we devised a brand image inspired by the image of activities like space exploration, where there is a mission with no known answers.
    The logomark took its motif from the mission patch, and the logotype was created using a custom font. Although no specific visuals exist, the logomark, logotype, and coloring express the brand’s worldview, and have expanded to be used on a variety of equipment, including business cards, stickers, letterheads, and websites.

Making use of all kinds of arrangements, like parallax and other scrolling transitions, and a presentation that actively incorporate 3D, we created a rich experience that can only be had from a website and cannot be achieved with pages in a magazine.

    We were in charge of the web design and front-end implementation of the “SUPER MODEL ROOM” virtual space for “The Park House,” a new condominium for sale by Mitsubishi Jisho Residence Co. This is a special site for a new attempt, in which Ms. Ai Tominaga, a digital twin (*), gives a room tour in a digitalized space.
    *Digital Twin is a service provided by CyberAgent, Inc. to create and manage official 3DCG models of celebrities as their “alter egos” and cast celebrity digital twins.

    We were in charge of UX design and arrangement of the store for “THE COTTON” section in Shiseido’s THE GINZA store on the 8th floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi.
    This is a new type of cotton that has been achieved through the use of carefully selected raw cotton from all over the world and blended using expert techniques, and through the use of carefully selected materials and manufacturing methods. We designed the entire space to experience the brand story of the product.

In 2015, at IFA, the world’s largest consumer electronics trade show in Germany, Technics marked its 50th anniversary, by delivering a message about the past 50 years of its history and the future to come, whilst at the same time announcing new products.     The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Rissho University has a particularly niche field of study, and its biggest challenge is that people think it is “unfamiliar” or “uninteresting”. However, “everything in the world is a subject of research,” the professor said with a smile. The trivial events of our daily lives are overlaid with various circumstances, such as the natural environment, social structure, international relations, history, culture, urban structure, and economic conditions. The site design is divided into five parts of the “?” symbol, which always comes to mind when studying, and colors are used to associate the departments. Our goal was to create a website that communicates to students in an easy-to-understand manner the fun of learning, which can be transformed into a different discipline depending on the combination of different parts.

    We have renewed the corporate website of Nikken Housing System Corporation, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2020, to embody the principle of fluidity and immutability, as in Haiku poetry. Due to COVID-19, there is a renewed interest in the way “housing” ought to be, and as a design company with a long history and high level of expertise, we are looking at what we should and should not change. This project, which lasted about eight months, aimed to express the new Nikken Housing System by taking a hard look at its corporate DNA.

    In order to express the company’s commitment to “not only creating buildings but also enriching people’s lives,” we created a visual in which the word “Living” appears as a collection of abstract buildings. By combining organic objects and shadows, we created a sense of air and warmth, and designed the entire website to be a single space.

    We created the 2014 website for the MVA (SPACE SHOWER MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS), Space Shower TV’s annual music video awards.
    From the site users can post messages of support for works and artists. The messages submitted will be selected by draw, and engraved into a commemorative objet d’art to be delivered to the artist who receives the award for the popular vote category, “BEST YOUR CHOICE”. The form of the objet d’art grew randomly in response to fan submissions, which can be seen on the top page, and after a period of time, the final shape was cut out from an aluminum ingot using CNC (Computer Numerical Control).
